What are finishing nails for a brad tacker?

Finish nails or finishing nails are, as the name suggests, used for the neat and precise finishing of woodwork, such as frames, skirting boards and furniture. The small, thin nails are also called 'minibrads' and 'microbrads' because of their small diameter. Typically, finishing nails are 15-25mm long and have a fine head to ensure minimal visibility and a smooth finish to your projects. Do you want to make sure that the nails are not visible? Then it is also possible to opt for headless finishing nails. In English, finishing nails with heads are called brads. Headless brads are known as pins.

How do you use the finishing nails? A micro brad tacker is a handy and lightweight pneumatic device that allows you to drive in finishing nails effortlessly without damaging the surface. What material are finishing nails made of?

Finish nails are usually made of high-quality steel. Their small size makes them ideal for use in finer woods such as MDF and thin plywood where larger nails would be undesirable. Using the correct finishing nails is essential to ensure that the end result looks aesthetically pleasing and lasts a long time. Microbrads 21G are primarily used for decorative and finishing purposes where minimal visibility is desired, such as furniture construction, joinery, cabinet assembly and even delicate art and hobby projects. Microbrads 18G are suitable for the same purposes, with veneers in particular.
